Before you start — what you need
- A numer PESEL (NOO-mer PEH-sel) — mandatory
- Polish bank account OR Polish phone number
- Passport

Method 1 — Via your Polish bank (easiest)
If you bank with PKO BP, mBank, Santander, ING, Pekao, or Alior — this takes under 5 minutes with no office visit.
Go to pz.gov.pl
Visit pz.gov.pl → and click "Załóż Profil Zaufany" (Zah-WOOJ PROH-feel zah-oo-FAH-nih).
Choose "przez bank" (pshes bank)
Select your bank from the list. You'll be redirected to your bank's login page.
Log in and confirm
Your bank verifies identity automatically using your PESEL. Confirm the Profil Zaufany creation. Done — under 5 minutes.
Method 2 — In person at a government office
If you don't have a Polish bank account yet, visit one of these offices with your passport and PESEL:
- Urząd Gminy / Urząd Miasta (OO-zhond GMEE-nih / OO-zhond MYAH-stah) — City / Municipal Hall
- ZUS (ZOO-s) — Social insurance office
- Urząd Skarbowy (OO-zhond skar-BOH-vih) — Tax office
- Oddział NFZ (OD-jow en-ef-ZET) — NFZ branch
- Poczta Polska (POCH-tah POL-skah) — Main post offices
Register online first at pz.gov.pl
You'll receive a numer referencyjny (NOO-mer reh-fer-en-TSIY-nih = reference number).
Visit the office within 14 days
Bring passport and reference number. The official confirms your identity and activates your profile. 5 minutes at the counter.
